A delegation of former world leaders from The Elders group called Thursday for Iran to be included in resolving the Syria conflict, following a three-day trip to Tehran.The Elders met President Hassan Rouhani, parliament speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, among others, on the rare trip.Iran is a staunch supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime, which has been battling rebels for nearly three years in a bloody civil war.Annan arrived in Iran on Sunday with former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, South African Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu and Mexican ex-president Ernesto Zedillo.
