BEIRUT: Rocket exploded close to Israeli Minister Tzipi Livni in Sha'ar HaNegev, Israeli Yedioth Ahronot reported.

The incident comes on the 12th day of Israel’s offensive on Gaza, as the death toll among the Palestinians has reached over 500, with two Israelis dead from rocket attacks and more than a dozen Israeli soldiers dead since the ground invasion began last week.

Livni, viewed as the most dovish minister in Benjamin Netanyahu’s Cabinet, was the chief negotiator for Israel during the last round of peace talks between Israel and Palestine, which collapsed without producing any results in April.
