Abbas, Peres begin joint peace prayer with Pope Francis

VATICAN CITY: Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas began their joint peace prayer with Pope Francis on Sunday in the Vatican Gardens.

Francis had invited the two leaders during his trip to the Middle East last month and the event will include Christian, Jewish and Muslim prayers in a bid to foster dialogue.
