18 Iraq security personnel found dead: police

BAGHDAD: Iraqi police discovered the bodies of 18 security forces members near a city north of Baghdad on Tuesday, police and a doctor said.

The dead soldiers and police were found in an area 15 kilometres (nine miles) east of Samarra. 

They had suffered gunshots to the head and chest, but it was unclear if they were executed or killed in fighting.
