Syria's opposition interim government said Thursday it had received $6 million from the United States in the first direct U.S. financial support for the rebel body."In the next two months, we hope to expand into northern Latakia and northern Hama provinces," he told AFP.He said the current grant would extend until May and the interim government hoped to negotiate additional funds beyond that. The opposition Syrian National Coalition and the interim government are internationally recognized as the representatives of the opposition.
