More than 100 rebels were killed when Syrian army and allied forces foiled an attack on the Rashidin neighborhood in Aleppo on Sunday, a security source told The Daily Star Monday.Seven children and 10 women among those killed in government airstrikes and shelling by insurgents, according to the activist group.Although President Bashar Assad and rebels agreed to a truce eight weeks ago, violence has escalated around the strategic northern city of Aleppo, with dozens killed in government airstrikes and rebel rockets.
