$30M to pay Gaza public-sector workersQatar said Thursday it would give $30 million to help pay the salaries of thousands of Gaza Strip public-sector workers left without a full wage package since 2013 .The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, has ordered paying a total of 113 million rials, which is the total wage bill for one month in the strip ruled by Islamist movement Hamas, QNA state news agency said late Thursday.A reconciliation pact signed in 2014 by the two sides raised hopes among Hamas that its 50,000 public sector employees' wages would be taken care of via the Palestinian Authority payroll.
