Saudi Arabia will host what it called an "expanded" conference for the Syrian opposition this month, aiming to unify its position ahead of United Nations-backed peace talks, the state news agency SPA reported Monday.Atareb and the opposition-held countryside in northwest Syria is supposed to be protected by a "de-escalation" agreement brokered earlier this year by Russia, Iran and Turkey, the main backers to the Syrian government and the opposition.Putin said Russia's work with Turkey and Iran was producing concrete results in Syria and creating conditions for a dialogue there.Speaking alongside Erdogan in the southern Russian city of Sochi, Putin said Russia would continue to work with Turkey to help resolve the Syria crisis.Putin's talks with Erdogan follow a weekend statement on Syria approved by Putin and President Donald Trump where they agreed that there could be "no military solution" to the war.
