The Palestinian government attacked comments Wednesday by the U.S. ambassador to Israel blaming it for the failure of peace efforts, after an Israeli settler was killed in the occupied West Bank.Friedman, a supporter of West Bank settlements, was referring to payments to the families of imprisoned Palestinians, including those who have carried out attacks against Israelis, and to those killed while carrying out attacks.Trump's Dec. 6 announcement that he would move the U.S. Embassy from Israel's commercial capital to Jerusalem reversed decades of U.S. foreign policy and upset Palestinians and the international community alike.The isolated community of a few hundred Israelis is located deep inside the West Bank.Some 400,000 Israelis live in settlements in the West Bank, which is home to 2.2 million Palestinians.
