Strike kills 2 commanders in Ghouta rebel group

Smoke billows following government bombardment in Kafr Batna in the rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta on March 13, 2018. A day earlier, the United Nations said more than 1,000 people, mostly women and children, were in urgent need of medical evacuations from Ghouta. The area has been facing a Russian-backed government offensive that has killed more than 1,100 people and wounded thousands more. (AFP / Ammar SULEIMAN)
