A new report found 12,000 people were internally displaced on a daily basis in the Middle East in 2017 . The Norwegian Refugee Council's new "Global Report on Internal Displacement" said that almost 4.5 million people were internally displaced in the region last year from war and conflict.The fight against Daesh (ISIS) was said to have caused much of the recent displacement in Iraq, with the battle to retake the city of Mosul alone forcing over 730,000 people to flee their homes.The report also found that 232,000 people were displaced internally in the Middle East because of natural disasters.
