Iran has extended the range of its land-to-sea ballistic missiles to 700km, a senior Iranian military official said Tuesday, as tensions over the weapons rise with the United States.Hajizadeh said that some short-range Iranian missiles had been used over the past two years in Syria's civil war.The rest include seven members of the Basij force, a volunteer wing of the Guard, as well as regular Iranian border guards.Later Tuesday, Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Guard's ground forces, called for a joint Iranian-Pakistani operation against those behind the abductions.
