BEIRUT: Prime Minister Najib Mikati met Thursday with Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon Hilary Childs-Adams who said that the Canadian authorities were continuing to follow up the cases of 2,100 people who were granted Canadian nationality based on false information.
Speaking after the meeting at the Grand Serail, Childs-Adams said her visit came in the wake of Lebanon’s decision to fund the STL.
In response to a question on whether the Canadian authorities were planning to revoke the citizenship of a number of Lebanese holding Canadian passports, Childs-Adams said that the authorities were investigating 2,100 people who received Canadian nationality in fraudulent ways.
