BEIRUT: Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed the importance of coordination within the government during a meeting with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun.

A statement issued by Hezbollah’s media office Wednesday said Nasrallah and Aoun had discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

The two sides, according to the statement, also assessed the performance of Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s government during the previous months.

Nasrallah and Aoun “emphasized the need for full coordination during the next phase while stressing the strength of the alliance between the two parties which will help protect Lebanon against all existing and future challenges,” the statement said.

Hezbollah did not say when the meeting took place. It said the meeting was attended by Energy Minister Jibran Bassil and Hezbollah officials Hajj Hussein Khalil and Hajj Wafik Safa.
