Rai, Mikati discuss election law, appointments

BKIRKI, Lebanon: Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai discussed Wednesday the controversial issues concerning the new election law and public appointments with Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Mikati traveled to Bkirki, seat of the Maronite patriarchate, to congratulate Rai on the approaching Christmas holiday feast.

Rai's predecessor, former Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir was present at the meeting.
