More security urged for Kuwait mission amid threat reports

BEIRUT: Lebanese police have urged the Embassies' Security Apparatus to further beef up security around the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission in Beirut amid reports of an imminent attack, a security source told The Daily Star Thursday.

The source said the measures were taken after the Internal Security Forces received information about a possible attack or terror act against the Kuwaiti embassy, which is located in the Bir Hasan neighborhood of the capital, in the coming 48 hours.

No other details were provided.

Security around Arab and Western embassies in Lebanon has already been enhanced after the Arab League decision to suspend Syria was met with attacks on diplomatic missions there.
