Foreign Ministry denies Lebanon's ambassador to Syria leaving post
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Lebanese ambassador to Syria Michel Khoury is on a two-day administrative leave in Lebanon, said the Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement issued Friday in respond to a local newspaper report that Khoury had returned to Lebanon due to the worsening security situation in Damascus.

Quoting diplomatic sources, Al-Liwaa said that Khoury left Damascus after the Lebanese authorities agreed to a request he made to leave the Syrian capital.

Calling on the media to stick to accuracy and seek information from reliable sources, the foreign affairs ministry's statement said, “Khoury is on vacation, and his presence in Lebanon has nothing to do with the Syrian security situation.”
