Sleiman meets Mursi, discusses revival of Arab League work

BEIRUT: President Michel Sleiman discussed Thursday with Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi in Tehran the means to revive the work of the Arab League, in the first meeting between the two officials.

The two met on the sidelines of the two-day Non-Aligned Movement summit in Iran. Sleiman traveled to Tehran Wednesday to participate in the event.

According to Sleiman’s press office, Sleiman and Mursi discussed bilateral relations between the two countries as well as means to strengthen Arab solidarity and reinvigorate the work of the Arab League and its role in resolving crisis and current issues.

The two officials also exchanged invitation to visit each others' countries with the aim of strengthening ties.
