BEIRUT: Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt discussed Tuesday the situation in Lebanon and the region with German officials, according to a PSP statement. Jumblatt, who is on a visit to Germany, touched on political developments in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and efforts to provide relief for Syrian refugees in Lebanon with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the head of the Social bloc in Germany’s parliament, and Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, the former federal minister of economic cooperation and development. Jumblatt and the accompanying delegation also held a meeting with German National Security Adviser Christoph Heusgen. They also met officials from Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a cultural institution with offices in Beirut.
