BEIRUT: Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is scheduled to address various issues, including the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, during a Feb. 7 speech marking Prophet Mohammad’s birthday.

Hezbollah’s office said Nasrallah’s speech would take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday during a Hezbollah-sponsored rally at Mujamaa Sayyed al-Shuhada complex in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Special Tribunal for Lebanon defense head Francois Roux Thursday assigned eight attorneys to represent the four Hezbollah members indicted in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Roux’s move came a day after the STL handed down its landmark decision to go ahead with in absentia trials.

Roux assigned the attorneys who served as duty counsel during the pre-trial phase as permanent counsel.

In a statement, Roux said he was confident that he assigned “experienced and competent counsel. They are fully independent and can choose any strategy they see best fit to defend the rights of the accused.”

What will Nasrallah talk about? The Israeli enemy and how Hezbollah was framed by the STL. What about poverty, crime and lawlessness in the south? Is that not a valid topic?? Iran's influence in Lebanon? Nothing new here.. Same old boring rhetoric!

Will he do this in public or from his hiding place?
