BEIRUT: Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Akbar Salehi warned that military intervention in Syria will have devastating repercussions in the region.
“Military intervention in Syria will lead to the explosion of the entire region,” Salehi said in an interview to be aired on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar Saturday night, according to the station’s website.
Salehi also voiced puzzlement over the decision by the Arab League to approach the United Nations Security Council on the matter of Syria given that the observer mission was still ongoing at the time.
The Iranian official also said Russia and China were conscious of Western plots aimed at dividing the region.
