BEIRUT: Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour denied Tuesday reports of a dispute with Prime Minister Najib Mikati over the premier’s upcoming visit to Paris.

Local media said Tuesday that the delegation Mikati will head on his trip to Paris will not include any ministers from his 30-member Cabinet.

Ad-Diyar newspaper reported Tuesday that Mikati will head to Paris Thursday at the head of a delegation that will not include Mansour.

It said Mikati’s decision to drop Mansour came following reports that Mansour has set conditions on Mikati, threatening not to travel unless he is asked to attend the meetings with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Francois Fillon.

Mansour denied Ad-Diyar’s report, calling it "baseless."

“The report ... is contrary to the truth,” said the statement from Mansour’s office.

It said Mansour’s expected non-participation in the Paris visit is because it coincides with a meeting of the Arab League peace initiative members and the Arab Ministerial Council. "
