BEIRUT: Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt met Tuesday a delegation of families of Lebanese inmates jailed in various prisons across the country.
The two sides, meeting at Jumblatt's residence in Clemenceau, Beirut, discussed the latest developments concerning prison conditions.
Families of Lebanese prisoners, mainly those detained at Lebanon’s notorious Roumieh jail, have been demanding that authorities consider nine months in prison equivalent to one year. They have also urged authorities to improve prison conditions.
