Hariri leaves hospital, begins recovery stage at Paris home

BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, following treatment for a skiing accident he incurred in the French Alps earlier this month, left hospital over the weekend to his estate in Paris.

“Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri left this afternoon the American Hospital in Paris, after the surgery he underwent to treat fractures in his left leg resulting from a ski accident,” a statement from his office said Saturday, 
 
The statement said Hariri would spend his time at his residence recovering and that his treatment would be continued as advised by his doctors. 
 
Hariri also a series of calls from various Lebanese and international figures wishing him a swift recovery including Prince Abdel-Aziz bin Bandar bin Abdel-Aziz, the vice president of the Saudi Intelligence Service and French Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton.
 
Local figures to contact Hariri included Mount Lebanon Mufti Mohammad Jouzou, Aley MP Fouad Saad and Tripoli MP Mouin Merhebi, former ministers Sami Khatib and Jihad Azour, former MPs Assad Harmoush and Salah Hnein and former Cabinet Secretary-General Hisham Shaar.
 
The Future Movement leader also received cables from Tunisian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fawzi Ballout, Nejmeh Sporting Club president Mohammad Amin Daouk, the deputy head of the Editors’ Syndicate Said Nassere ad-Din and Aida Ghandour Shoueiki, the head of the Child and Mother Welfare Society, the statement added.
