BEIRUT: Batroun MP Antoine Zahra said Tuesday that March 14 is unified and prepared for the by-election battle in Koura. During a TV interview, he said “there is unity inside the ranks of March 14 which will bet on [Lebanese Forces candidate] Fadi Karam.” He said the LF’s relationship with the Kataeb Party is “excellent” and that Kataeb leader, former President Amin Gemayel, was the first to announce his support for Karam. He accused SSNP candidate Walid Azar of inventing “sectarian publicity” in Koura. “Whoever wants to confront fundamentalism does not ally himself with Hezbollah,” he said. The Koura by-election is less than two weeks away to fill the Greek Orthodox post of late LF MP Farid Habib.
