BEIRUT: Zghorta MP Suleiman Franjieh said Tuesday that his Marada Movement is at the center of the Koura by-election to be held later this month, urging his supporters to vote for the SSNP candidate Walid Azar. He said the opposition Free Syrian Army has by now five military camps in north Lebanon. “We urge our supporters, allies and admirers to consider the election day a day for the Marada, just as it is for the Syrian Social Nationalist Party,” Franjieh said when receiving SSNP leader Asaad Hardan at his residence in Bneshaai, accompanied by Azar. The electoral race, set for July 15, is to pit Lebanese Forces candidate Fadi Karam against Azar, who will compete for the Greek Orthodox seat. Separately, Franjieh asked why parties denouncing Syrian violations of Lebanese borders do not slam five FSA military camps in North Lebanon.
