BEIRUT: Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea condemned over the weekend Thursday’s massacre near the Syrian city of Hama that opposition activists say killed up to 200 civilians.
“Geagea strongly condemned the horrible massacre Thursday in Tremseh near Hama in Syria,” a statement from the LF said Saturday.
Geagea, who described the incident as a crime against humanity, said there was an urgent need for the United Nations Security Council to step in to seek a solution to “free Syria from the killing and helps it build democracy after years of oppression.”
He also urged that the international organization refer the crimes to the International Criminal Court.
