BEIRUT: Hezbollah dismissed late Tuesday media reports alleging its secretary-general was being treated abroad for medical reasons.

“Sayyed [Hasan Nasrallah] is in good health and is in Lebanon and hasn’t gone anywhere,” a statement by the resistance group said.

Hezbollah said the statement was in response to some media reports of Nasrallah’s health and his departure to Iran.

On Tuesday, the Turkish Anadolu news agency, quoting Lebanese sources close to Hezbollah, said Nasrallah was flown to Iran after falling ill.

The state-run agency gave no further details.

Nasrallah will address the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region in a new TV appearance at 6:30 pm local time Wednesday, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar channel said.
