Bahia Hariri lauds Shaar during Paris meeting

BEIRUT: Sidon MP Bahia Hariri praised Monday the patriotic stances of Sheikh Malek Shaar, the mufti of Tripoli and the North, during a meeting in Paris with the cleric and Future Movement officials in France. Hariri hailed positions made by Shaar amid the security threats he his confronting. Shaar left the country last month for an event in Vienna and decided not to return to Lebanon after he was informed of assassination plots targeting him. For his part, Shaar thanked Hariri for expressing solidarity, praising her patriotic stances and efforts to serve the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese. Shaar touched on the role of late former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the MP’s brother, in reviving Lebanon and supporting dialogue among the Lebanese. Hariri highlighted the importance of boosting cooperation between French and Lebanese institutions.
