Hezbollah official says tripartite equation firm
A+ A-

BEIRUT: A senior Hezbollah official said Monday the tripartite equation – the Army, the people and the resistance, which the party has adopted as the best means to confront any Israeli attack on Lebanon – would not be shaken by Israeli air raids or the results of this year’s parliamentary elections. “The resistance is the only available guarantee for Lebanon to protect the land, sovereignty and complete the liberation of the occupied Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shuba hills,” Sheikh Nabil Qaouq, deputy head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, told a rally in the southern city of Tyre. “Israel, America and its tools in Lebanon, Syria and the region were betting on the destruction of Syria in order to weaken the resistance and prepare the region for a new Israeli aggression to change the equations,” he said, referring to the 22-month-old bloody conflict in Syria. “What is happening in Syria is a world war aimed at weakening the resistance axis and comforting Israel,” Qaouq said. “The Army, people and resistance equation is solid like the mountains and will not be shaken by either [Israeli] raids or the elections,” he added.
