LONDON: Emergency officials say a dead man and 30 survivors, including women and children, have been found inside a shipping container in a cargo vessel being unloaded in England.
Workers at the Tilbury docks, the main port for London east of the British capital, made the discovery Saturday as they unloaded cargo from a ship arriving from Zeebrugge, Belgium.
The East of England Ambulance Service says it sent seven ambulances, two rapid response cars, two doctors and a hazardous area response team to treat survivors at the scene, but one man already had died. A local hospital says it's received 19 of the survivors, including seven children.
Police say they have yet to identify the dead man or the nationalities of the people discovered hiding in the container.
