Russia's top prosecutor on Thursday lashed out at eye-watering corruption allegations against his family from opposition activists, the latest claims of rampant graft by members of President Vladimir Putin's elite. An investigation by leading Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny's anti-corruption fund accused the two sons of Russia's prosecutor general Yury Chaika of illegally amassing large fortunes with the help of officials under their father's command. The allegations did not directly implicate Yury Chaika himself but the prosecutor rubbished them on Thursday and said they were a political hit job.Asked if parliament plans to summon Chaika to explain the allegations, Russia's top Communist lawmaker Gennady Zyuganov went as far as to say that the investigation was ordered by the CIA.
