Another 12 people have died after drinking toxic homemade liquor in northern India, officials said Monday, taking the overall toll to 33 with dozens more fighting for their lives in hospitals.Hundreds of poor people die every year in India due to alcohol poisoning, mostly from consuming cheap hooch.Nearly three billion litres of legal liquor and an estimated two billion litres of hooch are consumed in India annually, according to the International Spirits and Wines Association.
