Palestinian men traveled through 8 countries to reach US

Mounis Hammouda, left, and Hisham Shaban sit in a small room at an immigration detention center in Eloy, Ariz on Dec. 10, 2015. The men traveled across the world to get to the U.S.-Mexico border to seek asylum from Gaza, where they are both from. While Hammouda has been released, Shaban has been denied asylum and has been ordered removed from the country, but the government hasn’t found a place to send him because Palestine is not an officially recognized state.
