Malta navy rescues 271 migrants from Mediterranean

Migrants wave and react towards the media while disembarking from one of Malta's AFM Protector-class coastal patrol boats on January 9, 2019 after being transfered from the Dutch-flagged rescue Vessel "Sea Watch 3" (unseen) to Haywharf in Valletta, following the annoucement that Malta has reached a deal with other EU member states to allow migrants onboard to disemba / AFP / Matthew Mirabelli
