Coaching can be one such powerful compliment to training. It has evolved to serve several purposes including career coaching, life coaching, emotional intelligence, performance reviews, leadership development and talent development. Many surveys have been conducted to study coaching and demonstrate its effectiveness. The 2011 "Global Survey on Coaching" by PriceWaterhouse Coopers reports the return on investment for companies who invest in coaching is seven times the initial cost. However, for coaching to be effective, the individuals and/or organizations receiving the coaching have to be convinced it is effective to allocate time and resources to the process. In order to improve the effectiveness of the program, and better address gaps in knowledge or skills, follow-up and coaching was used in parallel to the training.Coaching is needed to adapt what is learnt to each individual context.
