Brazil and Lebanon share more than just proper and cordial relations, consolidated by the presence of a migratory wave that makes Brazil the home of the largest Lebanese diaspora in the world, for more than a hundred years.I would like to underline that Brazil has been contributing to the improvement of Lebanon's security conditions, by supplying it with six Embraer A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, manufactured in partnership with the U.S. company, Sierra Nevada, as well as with 16 armored vehicles, Iveco 6x6 "Guarani," made in Brazil, and delivered in 2016 .During my visit, I will renew the commitment of Brazil to preserving the stability of Lebanon. Brazil has recognized in multilateral forums the generous reception in Lebanon, particularly in recent years, of more than 1 million Syrian refugees. In order to prove once more our commitment to humanitarian assistance in Lebanon, 44,000 insulin vials intended for the activities of the World Health Organization in Lebanon will arrive from Brazil on March 7 on board the frigate "Independencia".
