President Hassan Rouhani insisted Tuesday that the country's forces were the best shield against "terrorism" in the region: He seems to be forgetting, however, that Iran has been sponsoring violence and intolerance from Lebanon to Yemen. In Yemen it is has shown a determination to back a minority uprising against a legitimate government, offering a crucial lifeline in military support, advisers and finance, something Rouhani denied. If Iran meant what it said – that it was committed to combatting terrorism – this would be welcomed.
