Because in Lebanon nothing can survive the Cabinet's go-to plan of action: a parliamentary committee. We now have committees investigating the trash crisis, the internet scandal and the food poisoning case, to name just a few. From the U.S. elections to the conquest of Mars, anything politicians can think of has a bearing in some way on fixing Lebanon's myriad problems. The meetings after meetings held by these committees are not just a waste of politicians' time; they are a flagrant waste of millions of Lebanese taxpayers' dollars.
