After decades of the U.S. breaking promises, pledges, original pacts and the like as far as Palestinians are concerned, President Donald Trump has now brought the issue of recognizing occupied Jerusalem as Israel's capital to the forefront.Far from confining the debate to the status of Jerusalem, recognizing the city as the Israeli capital would reopen the entire Israel-Palestine issue. Most importantly, this would have saved the lives of hundreds of Palestinians and Israelis caught up in the maze of U.S. interference.
