After months of delays in the formation of a new Cabinet, it has become clear that the alleged deadlock, without mincing words, is just camouflage for a deliberate ploy by the Free Patriotic Movement to gain the upper hand in the next presidential election.Simply put, the FPM is fielding all efforts to marginalize all other Christian groups, especially the Lebanese Forces, in order to eliminate competition in their bid to secure the presidency for their preferred man – namely Gebran Bassil.Jreissati, dubbed a "constitutional expert" of the presidency, is an FPM member.
