Bassil proposed that any Palestinian refugee who is absent from Lebanon for a certain period of time should be crossed off UNRWA's records as a refugee; that any Palestinian who maintains or obtains another nationality should not be recorded as a refugee; and that there should be an international campaign to help Palestinians go back willingly to their country. At a time when UNRWA's services have already dropped, Bassil wants to deprive Palestinians in Lebanon of help the government hasn't even given them, crossing every line in his cynical, dangerous appeal for votes that plays with peoples lives and uses refugees as a political fodder.
