N.D. Jamhour win round 2 of Inter School Tournament

BEIRUT: Notre Dame Jamhour School won Round 2 of the Inter School Tournament Sunday while Lycee and Champville picked up silver and bronze respectively. The victory is Jamhour’s second win in two rounds, although they faced some heavy challenge from Lycee and Champville schools. 75 school students participated in this tournament making up 5 teams from 6 schools – Jamhour, Lycee, Champville, Broumana High School and a combined Tripoli schools/ACS.

A Palestinian team was hoping to enter but their coach, Ahmad El Masri, felt it was too early for them to participate and would rather wait till the next round.

It is hoped in Round 3, that will be held on the 25th of March (venue to be agreed still),there will be 3 additional teams, combined Palestinian team, College Protestant and Notre Dame de Loueize.

By the end of Round 3, the Under 19 National squad will have been chosen to depart on the 1st week of April to the Middle East International Schools Championship in Dubai.

The Championship presently stand after round 2 as follows:

1st : N.D. Jamhour

2nd : Lycee

3rd : Champville

4th : Broumana High School

5th : Tripoli
