Riyadi are among the favorites to clinch the title this season with sound financial and technical stability in the team, as Slobodan Subotic's side began practice in early September. The Beirut squad kept most of their players from last season, most notably Egyptian veteran forward Ismael Ahmad and American giant Loren Woods, as well as local stars Ali Mahmoud, Jean Abdel-Nour, Omar Turk, Amir Saoud, Ahmad Ibrahim and Miguel Martinez. They reinforced the team with the addition of prominent forward Ali Haidar and veteran center Roy Samaha. Homenetmen, led by another European school coach in Serbian Nenad Kerdzic, will rely on a group of young players that have one thing in common: They want to fight hard on the court.Elsewhere, Tadamon Zouk will host defending champions Champville at Ghazir Saturday. The match comes at an exciting time for Tadamon's head coach, Marwan Khalil, who will face the team where he spent four years as assistant coach to Ghassan Sarkis. Things are not much better for Champville, who launched their offseason a bit late following the departure of their coach and several players to Amchit.
