Spain striker Costa, bought from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid for 32 million pounds ($53 million), canceled out Scott Arfield's opener for Burnley before Andre Schuerrle and Branislav Ivanovic scored further goals before halftime to ease Jose Mourinho's side to an impressive victory in their Premier League opener at Turf Moor. While Chelsea's squad, assembled over the years at a cost of around 190 million pounds, Burnley's cost nearer 6 million pounds, with only one member of their starting line recruited in preseason for a fee in the shape of former Middlesbrough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.Burnley couldn't have dreamt of a better start, but the goal served only to wake up Chelsea and after Costa's equalizer four minutes later there was realistically going to be only one winner.
