Most accepted that even before this heavy defeat to Manchester City Monday night. For one thing, there was no disgrace in losing to the team who pipped them to the title last season. This City side is a formidable outfit that is growing stronger. This is a side, don't forget, that has lost one of the best players in the world, Luis Suarez.Because amid this 3-1 loss, Liverpool did enough to remind everyone of their quality and the reasons it is dangerous to dismiss them. One reverse ball to Jordan Henderson at the end of the first half caught City completely unawares and left Henderson in so much space he seemed surprised by it and squandered the chance.City outclassed Liverpool in the second half but the visitors know that in Markovic, Lallana and, of course, Balotelli, they have got players who will make them stronger.
