AC Milan have moved into pole position for the signing of highly regarded midfielder Axel Witsel according to British tabloid Daily Express.Milan stepped up their pursuit of Witsel after missing out on top target Geoffrey Kondogbia, who joined city Rivals Inter in a 24 million pound ($38 million) deal.Despite Chelsea appearing close to a deal for the 26 year old after tabling a 24 million pound offer earlier this week, it now appears that the Zenit St. Petersburg player will instead sign for the seven-time European champions. One player who won't be joining Milan, however, is Colombian striker Jackson Martinez. Martinez's agent Luiz Henrique Pompeo confirmed to AS that the Colombian forward will play for Atletico Madrid for the next four seasons after the 2014 La Liga champions activated his release clause.
