UEFA will hold an election for a new president on Sept. 14 in Athens after Michel Platini quit over an ethics scandal with the world body.Platini is banned from any official capacity at Euro 2016 because of the 4-year ban imposed over a suspect $2 million payment he received from FIFA in 2011 .UEFA's acting general secretary Theodore Theodoridis said that because of his FIFA suspension, Platini could be barred from any official function at Euro 2016, to be held in France from June 10 to July 10 .He said UEFA would have to check with FIFA on Platini's status.Candidates will have until July 20 to put themselves forward for the UEFA presidency.
