When Arsene Wenger first arrived at Arsenal in 1996, he changed the team's style of play, making it one of England's most attractive. These results pushed Wenger to switch to a "3-4-3" formation, which sparked a change in Arsenal's form.During that run, Arsenal's defense improved, conceding six goals compared to the 21 shipped in the last 10 games before the change in formation.Unfortunately for the Gunners, the new formation has not given them as much success this season. They are already 19 points behind first place Manchester City, having conceded 20 goals in 17 league games, more than any of the "big six" clubs, apart from Liverpool. So is it time for a change in formation for Arsenal?Given his past record in the January transfer window, he is unlikely to sign new players mid-season. He therefore needs to find the formation that will get the best out of his existing squad.
