Lebanese take part in horse-jumping event in Doha

BEIRUT: Lebanon’s equestrians have taken part in the second qualifier for individual jumping in the 2011 Arab Games in Doha.

Lebanon’s highest finisher was Georges Bitar, riding on horse Olympique d’Elle, who finished Wednesday in a tie for 24th place out of 35.

Antoine Assaf, another Lebanese equestrian, finished 26th on horse Gandalf 10 while Malih Dana came in 31st riding horse Telsche.

Abdelkader Said of Egypt came first overall with his horse Duc de Mariposa.

 

**Update: Georges Bitar was one of 28 finalists for the individual equestrian event. On a borrowed horse he finished twelfth out of the 28.
